inspiration
I love the feeling when you return to a shop after a consultation appointment with an excellent (and professional) tattooer.
I like finding somebody with a portfolio that leaves me feeling something akin to awe. I am amazed by their line-work, the solid coloring, the detail, the shading…whatever. One of my favorite things in the world is having a vague idea of what I want, telling somebody about it, and then seeing it turn into, and I quote a recent client at the shop I work at, “a sick tat, bro”.
All I told Roberto was that I wanted a bookworm. Click these words to see what he did. Doesn’t it look like Grime a bit? (haha)
I told Bryan I wanted a my little pony having a tea party with a mummy. I know, I know, it’s weird. I’m pretty sure he thought so too, but he went with it and you should see what he came up with. (No photos because it’s still a work in progress)…
In my books, good tattooers are like magicians. I feel like they can do anything.
I love this blog (swallows&daggers) because it’s inspiring. I want to be like Betty Broadbent. I want to be a modern day tattooed lady (but maybe not in a freak show stripper kind of way)…I want to get more and more and more tattoos.
In fact, I’m going to take that even further. I think we should all get more tattoos.
I also think that there is no excuse for getting bad tattoos. Do your research and take responsibility as a client. If you have no other resources, this blog should help.
What are you waiting for? Get out there, and get tattooed!

why is this posted here? less of this, more tattoos.
You have fantastic tattoo ideas- I love the bookworm.
For the longest time, I'd sit on an idea for yeeears sometimes- waiting to have the whole thing decided and planned (not drawn, but with a small number of visual aids if necessary), before going for a consultation. I didn't want to be a douche and not know what I wanted when I went in. -My FAVORITE tattoo is the one I was least specific about- the dude just did his thing, and it's perfect. (Not that I didn't leave room for artistic license on previous ones. That would be douchey.)
