Sketchbook Review 2: Thad Ritchey

I don’t even know how to start explaining this sketchbook. This book has 74 FULL pages of sketches, not just 1 or 2 per page but this book is literally packed to capacity. I would definitely define the work displayed in this sketchbook as neo-traditional. While Thad certainly pays homage to the old school style, he throws in some out of the box stuff as well. From solid single designs to extravagant and complex designs that flow like a river. The detail is undeniably amazing, and the time and effort put into each designs shows. Don’t be surprised if u have seen some of these designs before. A good amount of these designs are previously done tattoos, with the intention for you to see how it went from simple line art to a tattoo. Overall: 9/10 You can pick up limited copies of the original from Thad himself at thadritchey@hotmail.com they will also be stocking an unlimited version at Kingpin Soon. Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/52951921 On a personal level, it’s astounding; it just lets the ideas flow from your head and generates a great level of inspiration.
